JobScout

Job posts from LinkedIn and local boards, ranked against your profile

Collect job posts from LinkedIn, jobs.ch and jobup.ch in Switzerland, or LinkedIn, MyCareersFuture and JobStreet in Singapore, into one list on your computer. Read each description in the app, score every job against your profile with DeepSeek or a local ollama model, and let saved searches run on their own and notify you about the good matches.

Free for personal, educational and non-profit use, with one watch. Searching, scoring and export are never limited. Commercial use — including a recruiter or a consultant on client work — requires JobScout Pro, which also keeps any number of watches, in every country. Every build is produced by release CI and served from mayorana.ch.

The macOS build is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized, so it opens with a normal double-click.

Overview

Looking for a job means the same search on three or four sites, the same post seen twice under different titles, and a browser full of tabs you meant to come back to. Deciding which posts are worth an application takes longer than finding them.

JobScout searches LinkedIn's public pages, without logging in, and the main local boards for one country at a time: jobs.ch and jobup.ch for Switzerland, MyCareersFuture and JobStreet for Singapore. Every job lands in one list on your computer, once, with a status you set: New, Saved, Applied or Hidden.

Each job can be scored against your profile by any OpenAI-compatible model, DeepSeek by default or ollama on your own machine. A score comes with a one-line verdict, the strengths and the gaps. Saved searches, called watches, run on their own while the app is open and notify you about new jobs above your threshold.

What it does

Several boards, one list

LinkedIn plus jobs.ch and jobup.ch in Switzerland, or MyCareersFuture and JobStreet in Singapore. A job posted on more than one site appears once.

No login, no account at risk

LinkedIn is read through its public guest pages, never with your account. All requests are paced, and a rate limit stops the run instead of retrying.

Scored against your profile

DeepSeek by default or a local ollama model gives each job a score, a one-line verdict, its strengths and its gaps. The API key is read from your environment and never written to disk.

Watches that notify you

Save a search and JobScout runs it every 1 to 72 hours while it is open, scores up to 15 new jobs and sends one desktop notification for those above your threshold.

Yours, on your computer

Jobs, statuses, watches and your profile are kept in plain JSON files, one folder per country. Export the visible list to CSV at any time.

Requirements

  • macOS (Apple Silicon or Intel), Windows 10 or 11 with the WebView2 Runtime, or Linux x86_64
  • An internet connection. No LinkedIn or job-board account is needed
  • For scoring: a DeepSeek API key or another OpenAI-compatible endpoint, or ollama running locally
  • For JobStreet on Windows and Linux: Python with Camoufox (pip install -U camoufox && python -m camoufox fetch)

Built with

Rust · Dioxus · DeepSeek / ollama · WebKit · Camoufox

Questions

Does JobScout use my LinkedIn account?

No. It reads LinkedIn's public guest pages, the ones anyone sees without logging in, so your account is never involved and never at risk.

Where are the jobs kept?

On your computer, in JobScout's data folder, with one folder per country. Nothing is sent anywhere except the searches themselves and, if you score jobs, the job and your profile to the model you chose. With ollama, that stays on your machine too.

Which countries are supported?

Switzerland (LinkedIn, jobs.ch, jobup.ch) and Singapore (LinkedIn, MyCareersFuture, JobStreet). Each country is kept separately: switching unloads one and loads the other.
